Dried Fruit Bars
If you are going on a hike or a camping trip, packing some dried fruit bars is a great way to satisfy your hunger and raise your energy level. The good thing about these bars is that although you can buy them at the store, you can make them fairly easily as well.
If you plan on making dried fruit bars, you are going to need:
• 1 c. flour • 1/4 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp. salt • 1/4 c. butter • 1 c. sugar or honey • 2 eggs • 1 c. raisins • powdered sugar
Once you have gathered together all of the different items that you need, the first thing you should do is sift together the flour, baking powder and the salt. After this first step of making dried fruit bars is completed, you can mix in the rest of the ingredients. Then, line an 11x7 pan with some wax paper. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and pour the batter into the pan. Let the mixture bake for 25-30 minutes and then let it cool.
After the mixture has cooled, you can cut out the dried fruit bars. Some people add powdered sugar to add some taste.
