Dried Fruit

Even though there are many who love dried fruit, some people do not eat it too often because it can be expensive at the store. Here’s how you can make your own:

• Wash the fruit of your choice and cut it into slices.

• Lay the fruit out on a parchment-covered cookie sheet. Be careful to make sure that the fruit slices are not touching each other.

• Turn the oven on to a very low setting (about 150 or 200 degrees) and place the fruit tray in the oven. You do not want to cook the fruit, only dry it. Do not increase the heat. It will take a few hours so be patient.

• Remove from oven when it is sufficiently dehydrated. The dried fruit should be chewy.
